Harvest Season in Sonoma County – A Local’s Favorite Time of Year
Fall is one of the most magical times to live in Sonoma County, and harvest season brings experiences you can’t find anywhere else. You can taste fresh wine grapes straight from the vine, sip freshly pressed grape juice, or even learn to identify grape varieties just by the shape of their leaves. It’s wine tasting with a side of wine knowledge — we call that “multi-tasting”!
Another local favorite is Wine Road’s annual Wine Trails — a series of one-day events that let you explore multiple wineries in a single day. There are no reservations required and no tasting fees at each stop, which makes it easy to simply show up and enjoy. Each Wine Trail has its own theme, so every event is a fresh adventure for wine lovers and newcomers alike.

Star-gazing Party in Kenwood
When: September 20, 2025 at 9pm-11:59pm

2605 Adobe Canyon Road
Kenwood, CA 95452
A Perfect Sonoma County Evening Under the Stars
One of my favorite things about living in Sonoma County is how easy it is to connect with nature — and the Observatory is the perfect example. Spend an unforgettable evening under the stars, where science and wonder collide.
Start indoors with fascinating presentations led by local astronomy experts who make learning about the cosmos fun and engaging. Then, as the sun sets, step outside and experience the magic of the night sky. The Observatory’s main telescopes — plus several smaller ones set up by friendly docents — offer rare views of star clusters, planets, and even distant galaxies.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or just getting to know the area, this is a family-friendly experience you won’t want to miss. It’s one of those special Sonoma County events that remind me why I love calling this place home — and why my clients love finding their dream homes here, too.

Graton Day Festival
When: September 20, 2025 at 2:00pm-6:00pm
Where: Graton Town Square
9155 Graton Road
Graton, CA 95444
One of the things I love most about West Sonoma County is the way our towns come together to celebrate — and the Graton Day Festival is the perfect example. This annual event transforms Graton Town Square into a full day of music, food, and fun for all ages.
You can enjoy live music, browse local artisan booths, savor delicious bites from food vendors, and even join in the famous pie contest. Families will love the dedicated Kids Village, filled with activities to keep little ones entertained.
Presented with true block-party spirit, the Graton Day Festival is a wonderful reminder of the vibrant, close-knit community that makes this area so special. And the best part? Admission is free!
